I saw this on Mel Robbins IG and has changed my anxiety and my first response when I am feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated.
She said, "If you woke up feeling anxious or overwhelmed this morning, put your hand on your heart, close your eyes and repeat: I'm okay. I'm safe. I'm loved."
I'm not kidding when I say this INSTANTLY brings my anxiety level down.
And it works on your kids too! When my son was extremely upset and I hugged him put my hand on his heart and said, "You're okay. You're safe. You're loved."
These are words we all need to hear.
